Know where all the rare Pokémon are before Pokémon GO arrives in Malaysia
If you’ve been like everyone else on the planet, you’ll likely be aware of a small, trifling game called Pokémon GO that has you running around collecting presumably sentient fictitious creatures that you can then use to battle other fictitious creatures. Or, in plainspeak for the rest of us who weren’t born when cassettes and vinyl were a thing, you collect all manner of Pokémon to fight other people’s Pokémon .
No one could have figured out the insane response from the game. Since its limited rollout in the West, we’ve seen muggings take place on account of being distracted or lured by the geocentric aspects of the game, people getting themselves into car accidents to catch Pokémon , fall into manholes, accidentally finding dead bodies and even stampeding across Central Park in the dark of night just to catch one.
While Pokémon GO hasn’t officially appeared in Malaysia just yet, you can avail yourselves to this interesting app that tells you where Pokémon of all types are spawning around your neighbourhood. Basically, it’s a communally sourced Pokémon map where users get to mark where Pokémon are spawning on the map and other users are able to upvote or downvote sightings to show if a sighting is authentic or not. Pokémon Radar for GO is available via their website and have an iOS app along with an Android one on the way sometime soon tonight. While the data is fairly accurate for areas where Pokémon GO has been launched for some time like in the USA, it’s anyone’s guess for now if any of the Pokémon sightings on the map marked in Malaysia are accurate. If it is to be believed, downtown Bukit Bintang has multiple rares wandering around. Still, it’s something handy to keep tabs on when the game officially makes its way here.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be marking down where all those insidiously cute Pikachu are on the map.
