MSI reveals Stealth 18 Mercedes AMG Motorsport laptop and AI-enhanced line-up of new products at Computex 2024
At Computex 2024, the world’s top tech brands vie for attention and to showcase their newest technologies and products for the coming months ahead.
On a massive showroom floor that spans multiple football fields at the Nangang Exhibition Centre in Taipei, MSI displayed their technological prowess with a veritable cornucopia of new technologies and new products across the range including next-generation high-concept designs with the year’s underlying theme of AI infusing their entire line-up.
Taking pride of place at the MSI booth was the spanking new MSI Stealth 18 Mercedes AMG Motorsport laptop that looks as posh and as powerful as its namesake.

Expanding on last year’s collaboration, the MSI Stealth 18 Mercedes AMG Motorsport laptop is a spanking new addition to the line-up that takes the stage along with a refreshed 16-inch MSI Stealth 16 Mercedes AMG Motorsport laptop.
As you’d likely surmise from its name, the MSI Stealth 18 Mercedes AMG Motorsport is a gaming laptop with an emphasis on luxury and performance with the entire chassis made of magnesium aluminium alloy to save on weight while retaining structural durability.
When weighed in, the massive 18-inch laptop is only 2.89kg while being just 19.9mm thin. Turning it on is an experience in itself. Rather than the usual power button, the laptop has an Engine Start key that also creates a revving sound on start-up.
Belying its weight and dimensions, the MSI Stealth 18 Mercedes AMG Motorsport packs up to an 18-inch UHD+ (3,840 x 2,400 pixels) resolution MiniLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU, up to a whopping 96GB RAM via two SO-DIMM slots, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 laptop GPU with 12GB GDDR6 vRAM as well as NVIDIA Studio drivers and up to 140W TGP via Dynamic Boost. Storage needs are sorted out via two M.2 SSD slots.
All of this hardware is cooled via MSI’s Vapor Chamber Cooler which has an IntraFlow fan for optimised performance. Powering the whole affair is a 99Wh battery. On top of a luxurious build and tricked out specs, the MSI Stealth 18 Mercedes AMG Motorsport also comes tricked out with the works including next-gen WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
You also get a slew of ports including a HDMI 2.1 port and a USB-C Thunderbolt 4 with power delivery and, to top it all off, per-key RGB lighting along with a dedicated Copilot key on the keyboard. As an added touch, the laptop also ships with a slew of accessories including a laptop sleeve, mouse and mousepad too. In the case of the refreshed 16-inch Stealth 16 Mercedes AMG Motorsport, you get a similar form factor and size as its predecessor with the customary upgrades to keep it competitive including a Magnesium Aluminium alloy chassis. Up front, you get a 16-inch QHD+ (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) resolution OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600.
Powering the Stealth 16 Mercedes AMG Motorsport is up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU, up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 laptop GPU with 8GB GDDR6 vRAM and NVIDIA Studio drivers and a Cooler Boost 5 cooling array to keep the hardware cool via 5 heat pipes and a pair of fans. Other mod-cons include per key RGB lighting along with a dedicated Copilot key too.
While the MSI Stealth 18 Mercedes AMG Motorsport and Stealth 16 Mercedes AMG Motorsport took the limelight, MSI also offered refreshed AI-enhanced variants of their Prestige and Summit series laptops that pack the latest Intel Core Ultra processors, codenamed ‘Lunar Lake’ that can offer more than 100 TOPS of AI performance.
MSI also took the wraps off an array of laptops, specifically the Summit A16 AI+, the Prestige A16 AI+ and the Creator A16 AI+, powered by the new AMD Ryzen AI 300 series CPUs which host XDNA 2 architecture in the NPU which can triple AI performance for tackling generative AI and LLM straight off the laptop itself.
Also revealed were refreshed models of the MSI Modern series laptops with 13-inch, 14-inch and 15-inch models that are designed as everyday workhorses.
At present there are no official prices or launch dates for any of the aforementioned laptops just yet from MSI but we’ll keep you posted.
MSI Claw 8 AI+ gaming handheld
MSI is doubling up on their efforts in mobile gaming and introduced their new Claw 8 AI+ at Computex 2024. The new MSI Claw 8 AI+ has a larger 8-inch 1080p display, runs the new Intel Core Ultra aka Lunar Lake processors, sports a USB-C port with Thunderbolt 4 and has a lighter charger to boot.
Better yet, MSI has also teamed up with Bethesda to create an absolutely gorgeous MS Claw x Fallout Limited Edition handheld based on the current 7-inch model in the market save that it is embellished with a slew of Fallout iconography across its chassis.
There’s no official word when or if the Claw Fallout edition or the MSI Claw 8 AI are coming to Malaysia just yet or at what price but we’ll keep you posted!
MSI Pro MP MP252 E2 and MP271AP E2 120Hz series monitors
MSI also revealed their Pro MP series monitors that featured 120hz refresh rated and are intended as versatile workhorses. The MSI Pro MP252 E2 display has a 24.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display, a 4ms GtG response time flanked by a pair of 2W speakers and the aforementioned 120Hz refresh rate.
The slightly larger MSI Pro MP271AP E2 monitor has a wider 27.-inch 1080p display, a 120Hz refresh rate, an improved 108% colour gamut, a pair of 2W speakers and a 1080p webcam up top. Of note with both displays are MSI’s Power LInk feature that powers an MSI mini-PC on or off by simply switching the monitor on or off.
According to MSI, the Pro MP252 E2 will have a general release date of mid-July with a retail price of US$119.99 while the larger MSI Pro MP271AP E2 is priced at US$169.99 though with an as-yet unannounced launch date.
