Oxwhite Fitness Survey 2020 says 3 in 10 Malaysians are sedentary, reveals solution on video

Oxwhite, Malaysia’s homegrown online garment purveyor has recently conducted an Oxwhite Fitness Survey on their Facebook page which involved over 23,000 active customers and obtained some interesting results.

Across the findings of the OxWhite Fitness survey, the brand discovered that 3 in 10 customers exercised less than once a week and of this demographic, 41.5% are between the ages of 31-40 years followed by 26-30 (25%) and 25 and below (14%). That means a good chunk of users out there are moderately sedentary. Of those who stated they were moderately inactive, 90% said their lack of exercise was disconcertingly due to a lack of knowledge of how to keep themselves safe during a workout – in plain English that means not breaking or dislocating something and putting oneself in traction by accident.

On the bright side, 40% of users mentioned that they were exercising between two and three times a week. Interestingly enough, this demographic of surveyed fans also mentioned that they were also unsure if they were doing the right techniques to prevent injury when working out.

Oxwhite founder CK Chang said, “The finding was not surprising as multiple consumer behaviour studies had shown that many consumers buy activewear because they are comfortable and attractive, especially with the sweat absorbing and moisture wicking properties activewear comes with. This is what the market calls ‘athleisure’. However, as a lifestyle brand that seeks to help Malaysians to look and feel good affordably, we want to help everyone stay active and get healthier. Hence we also dived deeper into what is making them sedentary”.

The Oxwhite Fitness survey was conducted to herald the launch of their new activewear range which has moisture absorbing, sweat wicking and cool fit properties for both men and women alike including training tees, training shorts and sports bras.
