At the global Next@Acer live stream, the brand revealed their next generation of gaming laptops that aim to take gaming to new heights. The new additions to their Predator gaming laptop series, dubbed the Predator Helios Neo 16, the b, the Predator Triton 14 and the Predator Triton 17 X all pack 13th Gen Intel Core processors and the latest Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs along with refined enhancements to their cooling systems and design.
Acer Predator Triton 17 X Specs

The Predator Triton 17 X is equal parts gaming laptop and productivity powerhouse that can tackle demanding tasks like video editing and gaming in equal measure.
The CNC unibody machine chassis has a striking sandblasted finish which houses an exceptional array of hardware in multiple configurations depending on market. You get a 17-inch display with up to WQXGA mini-LED with a 250Hz refresh rate, a 1,000 nits peak brightness, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 100% DCI-P3 as well as Nvidia Advanced Optimus and G-Sync.
Easily their most powerful gaming laptop for the current line-up, the Predator Triton 17 X is up to a 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900HX CPU, up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 GPU, up to 64GB DDR5 5,600MHz RAM and up to 4TB in solid state storage configured in RAID 0. Keeping all this hardware cool is Acer’s own Vortex Flow triple-fan cooling system that integrates two 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D flans that offer 10% better airflow compared to their predecessors.
The laptop also features per-key RGB lighting,a fingerprint reader, a DTS:X Ultra six-speaker surround sound system, Intel Killer E3100G+ Ethernet and Intel Killer WiFI 6E AX1690i connectivity along with enough Thunderbolt 4 ports to power two 4K displays or a single 8K display.
The Predator Triton 17 X aka model PTX17-71 is slated for arrival in the United States in May with prices starting from USD$3,799, the EMEA in June from EUR 4,499 and China in May from RMB29,999 though no official launch dates and prices are set yet for Malaysia.
Acer Predator Helios Neo 16
The Predator Helios Neo 16 is a gaming laptop that aims to blend performance and value in a quaint looking chassis laser-etched with an encrypted code on the top lid.
In terms of hardware, the Predator Helios Neo 16 can be equipped with several display options including a 16-inch WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) IPS display with 165Hz refresh rate, a 3ms response time as well as Nvidia Advanced Optimus and G-Sync or a WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200 pixels) display with 165GHz refresh rate and 100% sRGB that also has Nvidia Advanced Optimus and G-Sync support.
Powering the Predator Helios Neo 16 aka model PHN16-71 are up to 13th Gen Intel Core HX CPUs, up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU with up to 140W MGP, up to 32GB DDR5 4,800MHz RAM, up to a 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD in RAID 0 as well as beefed up cooling built around an all-metal AeroBlade cooling fan array with liquid metal thermal grease on the CPU for optimised heat venting performance.
In terms of pricing the Predator Helios Neo 16 is slated to launch in the US in May with prices from USD$1,199, in the EMEA in May from EUR 2,199, in CHina from RMB7,999 from March onwards and in Malaysia from May onwards.
Predator Triton 14
The slim Predator Triton 14 aims to take the concept of a slim gaming laptop to its fullest potential with a 14-inch panel that has up to WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600 pixels) Mini LED display with a 250Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3, up to a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700H CPU, up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 or 4050 mobile GPU, up to 32GB LPDDR5 6,000MHz ram and an M.2 SSD slot shoehorned into an ultraslim design that’s just 19.9mm thin.
The Acer Predator Triton 14 aka model PT14-51 will land in the US in May with prices from USD$1,499 and up and in EMEA at the same time from EUR2,399.
Predator Helios 3D 15 Spatial Labs Edition
Arguably the most futuristic design of all of the Predator 2023 line-up the Predator Helios 3D 15 laptop is built around SpatialLabs eye-tracking solution to create a 15.6-inch display capable of offering stereoscopic 3D imagery without the need for wearing 3D glasses with selected titles.
The rest of the hardware consists of up to a 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900HX processor, up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 laptop GPU, up to 32GB RAM and the option for GPU-only setting for maximum performance. In terms of pricing, the Predator Helios 3D 15 Spatial Labs Edition is priced from USD$3,499 and will arrive in the US from June onwards.
In Malaysia, Acer currently has the Predator Helios 16 and Helios 18 gaming laptops in the market and bar the official announcement that the Helios Neo 16 will be arriving in May 2023, there’s no confirmation yet on if the other gaming rigs mentioned here will come to Malaysia though the examples pictured here were showcased in Malaysia.
