Powering the ROG Ally is an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU with 8-cores and 16-threads that’s built on the Zen 4 architecture with a 4nm process that has up to a 5.10GHz boost as well as integrated AMD Radeon graphics with a total power of 30W to allow for 1080P gaming. This is paired with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB SSD. Keeping all this cool is a dual-fan cooling system with heat pipes to vent heat away from critical areas.
What makes the ROG Ally terrifyingly powerful is the fact that it has support for the ROG XG Mobile suite of external GPUs that supports up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 mobile GPU to enjoy serious gaming though it’s more than able to do so on its own. The ROG Ally also has support for an ROG Gaming Charger Dock that allows it to both charge and stream the display to a TV for better visuals. Keeping the ROG Ally charged is a 40Wh battery with 65W USB-C Power Delivery 3.0 fast charging.
