Samsung Galaxy Note9 intro video leak reveals up to 1TB storage, powerful battery life
Just yesterday, Samsung New Zealand seems to have accidentally released an intro video for the upcoming Galaxy Note9 that will be launching in just 5 days from now on 9 August 2018. The video has since been taken down but it has since been propagated on a host of sites and confirms several tantalising details of the Note9.
The introduction video majestically zooms in on the backplate and soars past it. The biggest takeaway is the design of the backplate which pretty much confirms most prior leaks thus far in terms of its design language. It doesn’t wander far from the S9 and has the now confirmed horizontally placed dual camera array and beneath it a fingerprint reader. The video, which shows the base of the phone is the interesting part which confirms that the Note9 will have a 3.5mm audio jack on top of a USB Type C port and stylus well.
Another interesting confirmation is that the fabled blue variant of the Galaxy Note9 with a yellow S Pen exists and is quite real. The Galaxy Note9’s Screen Off memo function was liberally demonstrated as well and looks similar to existing versions on the Note8 but with one notable addition – you can now jot down notes in colour. Previously, Off Screen memo only allowed you to write notes in black and white and aught else. Of course, this can all just be creative license to showcase the new coloured stylus but it’ll be an interesting feature to have.
The next video shows the upper quadrant of the Note9 and mentions that it has a battery powerful enough for all day use from sunup to sundown. All well and good but where it knocks things out of the ballpark is that the phone can potentially have up to 1TB of internal storage in total.
Earlier leaks have suggested the existence of a 128GB and 512GB storage variant and this video confirms it as you’ll need to get the higher end 512GB version and plonk in a 512GB microSD card to actually get enough storage to hit 1TB. Now, you now have enough storage to cram in an entire season’s worth of dramas with more to spare. There’s not long to wait now but all these features paint it as a very practical and immensely powerful performer indeed.
As always, all this ought to be taken with a grain of salt as anything can change up until launch day. Stay tuned for the Unpacked where it will be revealed in its full glory on 9 August at www.samsung.com/my
