Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 & S8+ roadshows to offer bargains galore and trade-in offers aplenty from 5th to 7th May
To say that the Galaxy S8 and its sibling the S8+ are one of the most anticipated and wanted phones for 2017 does not exactly do it justice. Samsung sold 7000 of the phones when they opened up their preorder blitz on their website in mid-April and in Samsung’s native Korea, Samsung’s Chief of Mobile Business Dong-jin Koh has stated that there were over 728,000 units sold as of 13 April. The fact that Samsung’s preorder bonus was pretty darned good was icing on the cake. The special special three-day launch promotion gets you a Starter Kit akin to the preorder bonus which consists of a clear phone cover, a screen protector, a wireless charger stand and a USB Type-C cable as well as a 5,100mAh battery pack. While it lacks the hefty one-year extended warranty and one-year accidental screen damage protection bonus of the original preorder bonus, it’s still pretty darned good value and sorts out all the essential accessories you need for your S8 or S8+.
Where they sweeten the pot is that those who buy a Galaxy S8 or S8+ onsite at the aforementioned stores can buy a Gear VR with controller (RM499) and the new Gear 360 (RM999) at a whopping 50% discount. Assuming you buy a Galaxy S8 or S8+, you can get the Gear VR after discount at RM250 and the Gear 360 at RM450. The offer for the Gear VR and Gear 360 is good at all three road show locations only for now.
Samsung will also offer a trade-up deal where you can hand in your old phone from a selected range of accepted models across multiple brands and get a discount on a new Galaxy S8 or S8+. The trade-up campaign runs from 5 May to 30 June 2017 and is available at all Samsung Experience stores and a selected number of authorised dealers nationwide. As long as your phone can use a Malaysia telco SIM card, can turn on and off, have a readable IMEI number and can charge normally along with understandable caveat of being physically intact and from the aforementioned list, it’s a deal.
