Song Ji-Hyo rocks Pavilion Mall at Galaxy Note8 Malaysia launch
Samsung’s latest successor to their venerable Galaxy Note line, the Galaxy Note8 is making its official debut today in Malaysia. If the screaming crowd at Pavilion mall today is any indication, love for Samsung’s Note series phablets hasn’t waned. While there were complications with last year’s Galaxy Note7, Samsung took significant steps to address it with their 8-point battery test to ensure all their batteries are safe as houses.
To add major star power to the launch at Pavilion Mall, Samsung brought in Running Man star Song Ji-Hyo. During the launch Song Ji-Hyo took to the stage and shared just what the Note8’s S Pen stylus was capable of with a live demonstration on her personal Galaxy Note8 as she jotted down inspiring messages via the phone’s Live Message mode that creates a short animated GIF based on what you draw onscreen that can be shared on social media. Ji-hyo also took the opportunity to share a series of wefies with lucky fans during the launch.
The Galaxy Note8 is Samsung’s largest and most powerful phone to date with a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 1,440 x 2,960 pixel resolution, two rear 12-MP cameras both of which come with optical image stabilisation and one with a telephoto lens for bokeh shots, an Exynos 8895 processor paired with 6GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage and, naturally, their signature S Pen stylus that allows for expanded productivity options.
The phone will retail for RM3,999 and come in black, gold and gray in Malaysia. If you acquire the Galaxy Note8 at any of their three roadshows happening nationwide until 24 September, you can get a free Gear VR and several other bonuses on the house.
