Sony PlayStation 2023 showcase revealed Project Q, Spider Man 2 and more
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) today kicked off a Sony PlayStation 2023 showcase online that showcased their upcoming PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2 and PC titles in a non-stop, high octane series of epic trailers that spans over an hour and 13 minutes of jaw-dropping new titles.
What was at the Sony PlayStation 2023 showcase?
Among the announced titles are remakes of classics and new properties as well. Making a return is a remake of Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater while Dragon’s Dogma, Alan Wake and Arizona also get sequels.
In terms of new titles, PlayStation Studios revealed Fairgame$ from Haven Studios, Concord from Firewalk Studios and sci-fi shooter Helldivers 2.
Veteran developers Bungie have also taken the wraps off a new shooter called Marathon as well as an expansion for Destiny 2 called The Final Shape. Veteran developer Ubisoft also revealed their next addition to the Assassin’s Creed franchise dubbed Assassin’s Creed Mirage due this year, Street Fighter 6 and Final Fantasy XVI. The most anticipated game at the Sony PlayStation 2023 showcase – Marvel’s Spider Man 2 from Insomniac Games also saw a preview trailer and a launch date of fall 2023.
The Sony PlayStation 2023 showcase also gave a firsthand look at their upcoming Project Q that enables users to play any compatible game installed on the PS5 via Remote Play over WiFi. Immediate comparisons will be drawn to the Steam Deck and ROG Ally in terms of its design but it fulfils a different purpose.
The device has an 8-inch LCD display with a button setup akin to the DualSense wireless controller. An official pair of wireless earbuds were also revealed.
