Taylor’s University’s new Bachelor in Accounting (Fintech)(Honours) gives grads a fintech edge
Taylor’s University has just launched their latest Bachelor in Accounting (Fintech)(Honours) degree that will give graduates a decisive edge with skill sets in both accounting and the latest financial technology knowhow.
The Bachelor in Accounting (Fintech)(Honours) from Taylor’s University is a three-year dual award degree programme launched in collaboration with the University of Canterbury, New Zealand that combines a core foundation of accounting with a series of fintech oriented modules that will give graduates a decisive edge in the new economy.
As the first degree programme of its kind in Malaysia, the Bachelor in Accounting (Fintech)(Honours) from Taylor’s University allows students to specialise in the highly sought after fintech sector at an undergraduate level to get a foot in the door early. Upon completion, graduates can opt to transfer to the University of Canterbury in New Zealand for their final year and will receive awards from UC and Taylor’s University upon graduation.
The industry-ready three-year accounting degree will cover key areas in financial accounting, management accounting, audit and assurance, corporate governance, taxation, corporate finance, information systems, blockchain, financial technology and innovation.
Together these skills will create a strong foundation in finance and technology enabling graduates to meet industry requirements from various organisations such as the ‘Big Four’ accounting firms, banking and financial services, multinational corporations, public and government agencies. In order to ensure the attainment of practical skills, the programme will feature two internships at top firms.
