Xiaomi’s Redmi Go phone is their cheapest ever at RM299
If you’re really on a tight budget you don’t have many options in the entry level market, more so for something under half a grand but Xiaomi’s new Redmi Go handily clocks way under that price tag at just RM299 and is their cheapest phone ever in the local market.
The Redmi Go runs on Android Go, a more efficient version of Android 8.1 designed to operate on modestly specced hardware. In this case, the Redmi Go has a 5.0-inch HD display, a midrange Snapdragon 425 processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB of onboard storage as well as a 3,000mAh battery. The rear has a single 8-MP camera while the front has a single 5-MP selfie camera. Of note is that it has a triple card slot that lets you put in two SIM cards and a dedicated microSD card slot lets you bung in cards up to 128GB in size.
In Malaysia, the Redmi Go ships only in black and will be available from 13 April 2019 this Saturday at Mi Stores nationwide and on Lazada and Shopee.
