New Samsung Galaxy Note9 leaked render reveals more of backplate design
The official Samsung Unpacked event where the brand will launch their next premier phone is less than a few weeks away but the leaks are coming in hard and fast with renowned leakster Evan Blass revealing what may be the most visually complete front and rear render of the Galaxy Note9.
The veracity of the render is, as always questionable, but Evan Blass has always been a reliable source for leaks for hardware from Suwon in the past. In the purported render, the Galaxy Note9 sports the deep blue finish seen in an earlier ad collateral paired up with a gold coloured S Pen stylus.
Stylistically, the depicted Note9 seems to differ little from its immediate predecessor the Note8 with a similar form factor, curved edges and a coloured backplate though the Note9, as seen in the render, purportedly introduces new dual-toned colour schemes with differently coloured styli and casings.
The side bezels and frame look similarly coloured to the backplate and the rear integrates a horizontally aligned camera array along with a square-shaped fingerprint reader at the bottom. Closer inspection reveals that the larger camera array seems to have a mechanical aperture, which is in all likelihood something similar to the Dual Aperture camera seen on the Galaxy S9+ though the specifications of this camera in terms of sensor type, size and resolution remain elusive thus far. The secondary camera lens is most likely the optical zoom camera sensor that kicks in for long distance work, again like what was seen on the Note8 and S9+.
While many were speculating that the Note9 would be the first of their phone line-up to sport an under-glass fingerprint sensor, it may not be the case if these renders are indeed accurate with the Note9 sporting a rear emplaced fingerprint reader. Granted, it’s a conservative measure but it’s an improvement in terms of tactility over the Note8 which put everything its cameras and fingerprint reader in a row.
As always, ahead of the official launch, anything can change and what you see ought to be taken with a grain of salt. We’ll keep you posted if anything else interesting appears ahead of the Unpacked event in New York.
