Refreshed Acer Swift 5, Swift 3 and TravelMate P2 arrive in Malaysia with 11th Gen Intel Core CPUs

Acer Malaysia has revealed their latest generation of laptops which all come with the latest 11th Gen Intel Core processors and Iris Xe graphics. The new line-up with Intel Tiger Lake CPUs are the new Acer Swift 5, Swift 3 and the TravelMate P2.

Here’s how the new laptops all stack up:

Acer Swift 5

Acer’s latest high-end ultraportable weighs only 1.05kg and is only 14.95mm thin while packing some of their best hardware. Shoehorned into the casing is a 14-inch Full HD touchscreen with 100% sRGB colour gamut, either an Intel Core i5-1135G7 or Intel Core i7-1165G7 CPU with the former paired with 8GB RAM and the latter with 16GB RAM, Iris Xe graphics and a 512GB SSD.

Battery life is rated for up to 15 hours on a single charge and the Swift 5 is also bundled with a free copy Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019. Of note is that the Acer Swift 5 is Intel Evo certified, meaning that it has the performance, charging speed and portability to meet Intel’s lofty requirements for a current-generation ultraportable.

The Acer Swift 5 is only available in a shade of Mist Green and is now available nationwide with the Intel Core i5/8GB RAM version retailing for RM3,999 and the higher end version with an Intel Core i7/16GB RAM version retailing for RM4,999.

Acer Swift 3

The Acer Swift 3 is intended as a more mainstream laptop though it doesn’t lack for hardware as it comes with the new 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Iris Xe graphics on top of having more colour choices.

The top of the line model comes with a 14-inch Full HD LCD display, an Intel Core i6-1165G7 processor paired with Iris Xe graphics, 16GB DDR4 RAM, a 512GB SSD, WiFi 6 support and a free copy of Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019. Battery life is a bit shorter than the Swift 5 though at 11 hours but the price is lower too at RM4,199 though you’re limited to a Pure Silver paint job.

The cheaper version of the Swift 3 runs on an Intel Core i6-1135G7 processor and has 8GB DDR4 RAM but is otherwise identical with the choice of Pure Silver, Aqua Blue and Melon Pink paint jobs for a lower RM3,299 price point. All Acer Swift 3 models are available nationwide.

Acer TravelMate P2

Intended to be deployed enmasse for corporate desk jockeys, the TravelMate P2 is notably very durable for what you pay for as it comes with a spill resistant keyboard and MIL-STD-810G levels of durability. 

The TravelMate is available in a variety of configurations yt the top of the line version integrates a 14-inch Full HD IPS pane, an Intel Core i6-1135G7 CPU paired with Intel Irix Xe graphics, 8GB DDR4 RAM, up to a 512GB SSD, WiFi 6  and up to 13 hours of battery life. It’s a bit heavier at 1.6kg on account of its tank-like build but retails for a not unreasonable RM3,549 seeing its durability. All variants of the Acer TravelMate P3 are available nationwide online and at selected retailers.
