Acer Aspire Vero 16 laptops that will debut at CES 2024 will be carbon neutral

Every laptop made generates a significant carbon footprint. From its creation to even its packaging, a laptop can potentially create a huge carbon footprint across its lifecycle but the new Acer Aspire Vero 16 aka model AV16-51P that was announced at Acer’s recent Conscious Technology event in Dubai is one of the first laptops that aims to be completely carbon neutral.

To tackle the growing challenges of climate change, Acer has joined the RE100 initiative which we covered at Computex 2023 and is committed to achieving 100% renewable electricity as well as achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. To that end. The Acer Aspire Vero 16 laptopand almost every aspect of its design has been designed to minimise carbon emissions with a goal to being a carbon neutral design.

For starters, the Acer Aspire  Vero 16 has almost double the use of recycled plastic at 60% versus its first generation predecessor which used 30%. The touchpad of the laptop also takes advantage of recycled ocean-bound plastic too which lends the chassis its distinctive speckled finish.

Acer has also ensured that the packaging is 100% recyclable and has worked with shipping partners to ensure that biofuel is used in its transport to reduce sea container emissions. That’s not all, the new Intel Core Ultra CPUs powering the laptop are more power efficient than ever before and the brand’s AcerSense battery management tech optimises battery life to minimise wastage.

After potentially many years of service, the Acer Aspire  Vero 16 is also designed for easy recycling with the use of standard screws. To further ensure the laptops are carbon neutral, Acer will also retire high-quality carbon credits to seal the deal.

At present, there are no specifications for the Acer Aspire Vero 16 beyond its carbon neutral credentials but we’ll keep you posted when it makes its official debut at CES 2024 next month. For more details check out www.acer.com
