The new Acer Connect Vero W6m is the greenest mesh router they’ve made with 30% PCR plastic
Acer is certainly going the extra mile for sustainability and ahead of Computex 2023 where they’re slated to give a keynote, they’ve just taken the wraps off their spanking new Acer Connect Vero W6m mesh router that has a veritable heap of green credentials while kicking out fast WiFi 6e connectivity.
What is the Acer Connect Vero W6m
The Acer Connect Vero W6m mesh router’s biggest claim to sustainability is in its design and packaging with the box it comes in made of 100% recyclable paper while its sleek cobblestone grey chassis is made from 30% post consumer recycled (PCR) plastic.
Where it knocks it out of the ballpark is that it has a special Eco mode that optimises power consumption, regulates data frequency distribution and also manages sleep time when not in use to save more on juice.
Eco-friendly packaging, green features and design aside, the new mesh router runs on a MediaTek 2GHz quad-core A53 processor with 1GB LPDDR RAM and 4GB of storage. It supports up to 7.8GBps download speeds with WiFI 6E Triband (2.4GHz / 5GHz / 6GHz) AXE7800 throughput.
The Acer Connect Vero W6m mesh router is also capable of being paired up with four other similar units with a dual mesh system offering a generous 465 square metres of coverage while a quad mesh system offers up to 930 square metres of coverage to virtually eliminate dead spots in a given area be it a home or office.
On top of these solid credentials, the Acer Connect Vero W6m mesh router is also rated for compliance with EU EN 303 645 (RED) Cyber Security Standards. At present there’s no official price or availability yet be it for Malaysia or the rest of the world but we’ll keep you lot posted. Stay tuned for more coverage on Acer at Computex 2023!
