Asus ZenBook 13, 14 and 15 with ScreenPad secondary displays announced at Computex 2019
Scarcely months after their release at the tail end of last year, Asus decided that a new generation of ZenBooks to greet 2019 in style were in order which is where the new ZenBook 13, ZenBook 14 and ZenBook 15 as well as the ultra exclusive ZenBook Edition 30 comes into play.
At a press briefing, Asus showcased the new additions to their distinctive ZenBook series which epitomise portability, performance and power. To date, their ZenBooks are some of the lightest and slimmest ultraportables in the market.
On top of refreshed hardware, the new ZenBook series all come with Asus’ ScreenPad 2.0 which is a 5.65-inch FUll HD display that works as a touchpad and which can also function as a secondary display or shortcut access to apps, macros and more.
The ZenBook 13 aka the UX 334, the ZenBook 14 aka the UX434 and the ZenBook 15 aka the UX534 have a modest level of commonality in terms of most of their hardware under the hood but differ on a number of key points.
The biggest difference of course are the size of their displays but all of them have thinner bezels than ever before that Asus has dubbed as ‘NanoEdge’ panels which maximise screen size, offering a 95% screen-to-body ratio while ensuring the form factor remains compact. The ZenBook 13 comes with a 13.3-inch Full HD display while the ZenBook 14 has a larger 14-inch display and the ZenBook 15 has a much larger 15.6-inch display in either 1080P or a crisp 4K.
Another addition first seen on their VivoBook series has made it into the revamped ZenBook range in the form of their Ergolift hinges that feature a flange at the base of the display that raises the base of the notebook up at a slight angle to offer more ventilation and a more comfortable typing experience.
On top of the aforementioned Asus ScreenPad 2.0 , the new ZenBook 13, 14 and 16 will have up to an 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor (either an Intel Core i7-8565U or an Intel Core i5-8265U) and up to NVIDIA GeForce MX250 discrete graphics for the ZenBook 13, 14 and ZenBook Edition 30. In the specific case of the ZenBook 15, it comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1650 card with Max-Q graphics. Storage needs on all models are sorted with PCIe solid state drives and up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM.
Colour options for all three are currently limiter to a deep Royal Blue anodised finish embellished with a Rose Gold trim bar for a hint of luxury. At press time, there are no announcements on when and how much they will cost in Malaysia but we’ll let you lot know once we get word from Asus.
