Google Maps now has a motorcycle mode for Malaysians

If you are one of the millions of Malaysians who rely on a motorcycle for transport, rejoice as Google has rolled out an update with a new motorcycle mode that optimises routes based on your ride of choice.

The new update offers more accurate travel times as it factors in routes that bikes can use as well as taking into consideration that lane splitting is allowable for bikes in Malaysia. All this means that Google Maps will now more accurately reflect arrival and transit times when you are riding a motorcycle.

To make it easier for bikers, the app also uses landmark-based navigation to make it easier to get to orient and get your directions. If you haven’t gotten the update yet, just head on over to Google Play to update Google Maps and the new features should appear. To activate motorcycle mode, you simply have to click on the bike icon onscreen. Happy trails people!
