HONOR MagicWatch 2 arrives in style priced at RM699

If you’re looking for a smartwatch that offers some premium looking design without costing an arm and a leg, you’re in luck as HONOR has rolled out their surprisingly stylish MagicWatch 2 smartwatch that comes with a design akin to a posh timepiece hewn from a suitably premium looking 361L stainless steel case that is available in two different sizes – 46mm and 42mm.

The 46mm HONOR MagicWatch 2 comes issued with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 454 x 454 pixel resolution while the 42mm variant has a slightly smaller 1.2-inch AMOLED display with 390 x 390 pixel resolution. Both are a crisp 326 ppi and serve up luscious hues at first blush along with 800 nits brightness. Bar the screen size differences, both sizes are functionally similar.

Under the hood, the MagicWatch 2 is powered by Huawei’s Kirin A1 processor along with a host of fitness and health tracking functionality to the tune of 13 forms of indoor and outdoor exercise on top of the usual array of swappable watch faces. The underside TruSeen heart rate tracker keeps an eye on your heart rate and if it goes above or below the norm while in keeping with recent trends, it also acts as a sleep tracker too on top of offering some breathing exercises if you’re stressing out.

Storage needs are sorted by 4GB of built-in memory so you can keep a decent playlist on the watch itself and it has Bluetooth 5.1 as well as an integrated microphone and speaker to make and take calls once it’s paired with your smartphone from up to 150 metres away.

 Doing it in this fashion does let everyone within two paces hear what you’re saying but it’s a small price to pay for looking cool. It also has a rated two weeks of battery life before needing a recharge.

In Malaysia, the HONOR MagicWatch 2 is issued in different finishes that also have correspondingly different straps. The MagicWatch 2 in 46mm comes in Flax Brown with a matching leather strap for RM749 while the 46mm variant in Charcoal Black with a matching black rubber strap retails for RM699. The HONOR MagicWatch 2 will be available at www.hihonor.com, HONOR stores nationwide as well as online at Shopee from 20 December onwards.

The 42mm variant will come in your choice of Agate Black or Sakura Gold later on but no price has been announced as yet but it should be cheaper than the existing 46mm MagicWatch 2.
