HONOR debuts Vision X1 TV with virtual assistant and 8K playback
HONOR is certainly delving into new areas of endeavour as they’ve introduced their HONOR VIsion X1 range of TVs that come in 50-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch sizes. The launch of the Vision X1 range was alongside the launch of their VIewPad 6 tablet and their MagicBook Pro notebook.
The HONOR Vision X1 range sport 4K (3,840 x 2,160) pixel resolution, support 92% of the DCI-p3 wide colour gamut which the brand claims is about 22% higher than industry norms while sporting slim bezels in all three sizes with an impressive 94% screen-to-body ratio. Of note is that the new TVs offer not only 4K but 8K@30fps playback support too.
The TVs are also rated by TUV Rheinland for a flicker free experience, run their HongMeng OS 1.0 AI on what they designate as the Honghu 818 chipset.
The TV also has the rather novel ability to simultaneously project the feed from two paired HONOR smartphones at the same time onscreen which is handy for multiplayer gaming. It also sports a virtual assistant called YoYo though the extent of its functionality and if it will replace existing stalwarts like Alexa or Siri remains to be seen.
There’s no availability or pricing for Malaysia just yet but at launch it has been priced at RMB3,299 (about RM2,020 ) for the 65-inch variant, RMB2,299 (about RM1,408 ) for the 55-inch variant and there’s no price stated yet for the 50-inch version.
