Leaked renders show Huawei’s next flagships the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro
Alleged renders of Huawei’s next flagship phone have already been leaked by Venturebeat. Dubbed the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro, the phones will purportedly come with a 5.9-inch screen in flat and curved variants with the curved one coming with QHD resolution and the flat one at Full HD. Both phones will come with the new 64-bit HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC and a variety of storage and RAM variants starting at 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage capping out at a maximum of 6GB RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. The rear camera for the Mate 9 comes with a similar dual-lens, one colour and one mono camera design from Leica as seen on this year’s P9 and P9 Plus though with several improvements that up-gun the aperture and sensor size to 20-MP and f/2.0. Just beneath the rear camera is a fingerprint reader.
Other interesting titbits include a 3.5mm audio jack up top which fortunately doesn’t require ‘courage’ to use or implement. The base comes with a USB Type-C port and a grill that would likely be for the built-in speakers.
There’s no official word on price or availability yet though alleged leaked renders have pegged it to come in at least four colours – a bronze hued brown, silver, gold and a pinkish rose gold. The official launch is on 3rd November in Munich Germany and we’ll keep you posted once any details about the phone firm up.
