MSI wants your eyes on their GT72 Dominator Pro G Tobii gaming notebook right now
If you’re aiming for a seriously cutting edge gaming notebook, you can’t get it as sharp as MSI’s spanking new GT72 Dominator Pro G Tobii gaming rig. This gaming notebook comes with impressive specs out of the box with the highest specced variant sporting a 17.3-inch 1080p display, an Intel Core i7 6720HK processor, 16GB DDR4 RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 graphics card, a 128GB SSD and 1TB hard disk combo and a Blu-ray writer in a chassis which is in MSI’s usual black with red trim. The lowest specced variant has a similar display and Blu-ray writer but sports an Intel i7-6700HQ processor, either an Nvidia GTX 980M with 8GB RAM or an Nvidia GTX970M with 16GB RAM and a 1TB hard disk for RM8,999.
What knocks this rig out of the park and ahead of its contemporaries in the field is that it’s the first notebook on the planet to incorporate Tobii’s eyeball tracking tech for gaming. Depending on the game, the GT72 allows for enhanced functionality and additional gaming options. In Tom Clancy’s The Division where you romp about a post-dystopian New York, you’re able to, with the power of your Mark 1 eyeball stare at the edges of the screen to expand your view, select which areas you want to take cover in on the battlefield and sprint there accordingly and other interesting things.
There’ll be more games that support Tobii’s eye tracking tech with Assassin’s Creed:Rogue being one of them and more coming in the future.
The GT72 Dominator Pro G Tobii gaming rig retails for an impressive RM12,999 for the highest specced variant and is now available for preorder with the notebook officially arriving in stores on 23 May. Every GT72 also comes with US$50 of free Steam credit too so you can start gaming out of the box.
If you’re after something even more powerful, you’ll appreciate MSI’s Vortex desktop gaming tower. The compact cylinder crams in an Intel Core i7-6700K processor, 16GB DDR4 RAM, dual NVIDIA GTX 980 cards, a 256GB SSD and a 1TB hard disk for a whopping RM18,999. It’s powerful enough to run six monitors off it simultaneously though its asking price naturally doesn’t include the aforementioned monitors. The cylindrical design of the Vortex has a purpose, following the principles of heat convection to draw in cool air from the bottom and to vent hot air out from the top to keep everything inside cool. If you still want in on the Vortex but are looking for something a wee bit more affordable, you can opt for the slighty lower specced variant that has similar specs bar an Intel i7-6700 processor and dual NVIDIA GTX 960 cards for RM11,999.
