AMD’s Mobile processors that were launched a while back are now available in Malaysia as part of the new Lenovo Ideapad 720S notebook and Acer Swift 3 ultraportable. Also showcased today was the ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC gaming rig that uses the Ryzen 7 desktop APU.

The new AMD Ryzen 5 Mobile 2500U processor that is integrated into the Ideapad 720S and Swift 3 consists of 4 “Zen” X86 CPU cores, 8 threads and a maximum clock speed of 3.6GHz as well as integrated Radeon Vega graphics in a single system-on-chip. The combination of a processor and a GPU on a single chip aims to offer exceptional efficiency and value in a compact form factor.

The refreshed Acer Swift 3 ultraportable comes with a 15.6-inch Full HD display and integrates their Ryzen 5 2500U processor along with a Radeon 540 GPU with 2GB GDDR5 as well as 8GB DDR4 RAM. Storage needs are handled by a 256GB PCie SSD.The Swift 3 has no price as yet but it is slated to arrive nationwide at all e-tailers and store retailers by the end of March 2018.

Also integrating the Ryzen 5 2500U is the Lenovo IdeaPad 720S ultraportable which sports a 13.3-inch Full HD display, the aforementioned Ryzen 2500U that has Radeon Integrated graphics as opposed to a dedicated GPU and 4GB DDR4 RAM. Storage is sorted out by a 256GB PCie SSD. The Lenovo IdeaPad 720S is currently available in the market for RM3,299 and can also be acquired from AMD’s official online store on 11street here.

Also making an appearance today was the humongous ASUS ROG GL702CZ-G273T gaming notebook. The odd notebook out of today’s showcase, the ROG GL702CZ instead packs an eight-core Ryzen 7 1700 3.0GHz desktop processor; the clincher is that they’ve managed to cram this into a portable notebook. Paired with this is a Radeon RX580 GPU with 4GB GDDR5, 8GB DDR4 RAM, a SATA 3 256GB M.2 SSD paired with a 1TB hard disk and a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS display with FreeSync tech.
