OnePlus 5 gets an official price ahead of preorders in Malaysia
The OnePlus 5 phone is one of the more elusive phones that Android aficionados are looking for in the market after its recent official global announcement but official Malaysia distributor Brightstar Malaysia has just announced that it is now up for preorders and has an official price tag.
The phone weighs about 153g, is 7.3mm thin in a unibody aluminium chassis that sports two different paint jobs which in turn correspond to two different variants. In general, the OnePlus 5 comes with a 5.5-inch optic AMOLED touchscreen with Full HD resolution and 401ppi. Under the hood, it runs Android Nougat 7.1.1 on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 which improves on its predecessor in terms of performance while offering 40% less power drain. The rear dual camera array sports hardware from Sony. A primary IMX398 16-MP camera sensor with an F/1.7 aperture and dual pixel phase detection autofocus comes with a secondary 20-MP IMX350 sensor riding shotgun with an F/2.6 aperture to capture 2160P video and snaps. The rear camera also has a Portrait mode that offers the usual bokeh effect when taking portrait shots. A 3,300mAh battery with Dash Charge tech helps to rapidly charge it faster than other charging solutions on the market even when undergoing heavy use whilst charging.
Where both of the aforementioned colour variants differ is in terms of how much storage and RAM they have. The Slate Gray variant will come with 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage for RM2,388. The Midnight Black version has all the good stuff with a whopping 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage for RM2,688. Both phones are now available for preorder on Lazada and via DirectD from now until 6 July 2017 with preorder delivery within 5 working days after 8 July 2017. You can also purchase it directly from any of Brightstar’s official Malaysia distributors after 8 July.
