Razer Kishi controller for Android phones makes mobile gaming great again
Gaming on an Android smartphone is a bit of a mixed bag with a selection of gaming-focused smartphones but few, if any, universal gaming controllers that made the mark. Until now that is as the Razer Kishi universal gaming controller for Android phones is now in the house and available in Malaysia.
Originally debuted at CES 2020, the Razer Kishi works with all Android smartphones with a USB Type-C connection and has a flexible centrepiece that extends that clamps onto the sides of a smartphone for gamers to play landscape style.
The control setup is like a traditional gamepad with clickable analog thumbsticks, two shoulder buttons, two analog triggers, multi-function buttons and an 8-way direction pad.
Heavy gamers will appreciate the fact that the Razer Kishi has passthrough charging, allowing for users to hook up a charging cable to the controller to juice a paired up smartphone without having to detach the controller.
Users of the Razer Kishi have a distinct advantage over those who are solely dependent on using the touchscreen as the controls not only offer extra tactility but also free up the screen so that your fingers don’t block the view. That’s a huge bonus for games like Call of Duty Mobile and PUBG.
