Shopee and Facebook team up to beef up ecommerce in Malaysia

Shopee, one of Malaysia’s leading ecommerce platforms has teamed up with Facebook to host a one-day Shopee University workshop in Malaysia. The Shopee University workshop, serendipitously enough, was held at Taylor’s Lakeside University, and involved representatives from over 200 renowned international and domestic brands across the range that are household names including MR. DIY, Hush Puppies, Ogawa, IKEA and more in finding out ways to strengthen their respective e-commerce and social media presences online.

During the event, Shopee brought in industry experts from brands including Digi and PETRONAS who shared best practices and insights on increasing online visibility and user engagement. “The official shops on our platform are leading brands that already have a strong foothold in the traditional retail landscape, and are looking to expand their reach online. In line with the Malaysian government’s commitment to digitise the economy, Shopee is proud to play a part in driving the e-commerce sector forward by supporting these brands in building a strong online presence,” said Ian Ho, Shopee’s Regional Marketing Director.

Representatives from Facebook were also at the event and shared additional insight into the most used social media platform in the world.
