New Samsung Neo QLED 8K TVs debut in Malaysia; prices start from RM24,999
Samsung Malaysia has launched their latest line-up of Neo QLED 8K and 4K AI TVs along with refreshed incarnations of the new The Frame 2024 TV, Music Frame speaker and Q-series soundbars in Malaysia.
Led by the top of the line QN900D Neo QLED 8K TV as well as the QN800D Neo QLED 8K TVs, the new line-up offers a host of AI-powered enhancements. The premier mode the QN900D features the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor that integrates an on-device neural processing unit to offer exceptional image quality and optimise energy consumption.
On paper, the new NQ8 AI Gen3 processor integrates 512 neutral networks and has a neural network 8 times larger with a neural processing unit (NPU) twice as fast as its predecessor.
With all this hefty pixel crunching power, the Neo QLED QN900D 8K AI TVs feature 8K AI Upscaling tech to upscale low resolution content to near 8K resolution, feature AI Motion Enhancer Pro tech for clearer visuals especially during fast-moving gaming events and a Real Depth Enhancer Pro which adds additional depth to image content for better immersion.
The AI enhancements don’t end there with an Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) Pro Function that leverages deep-learning to make voices easier to hear in content onscreen . The new TVs also have an intelligent Environment Adaptive Brightness feature that dynamically adjusts brightness based on ambient light conditions and an AI Energy Mode to optimise energy use.
For the Samsung Neo QLED QN800D series, Samsung uses a slightly more affordable NQ8 AI Gen2 processor that offers 8K AI upscaling and much of the refinements of the QN900D including an AI Motion enhancer and Real Depth Enhancer Pro tech for more vivid depth of field in viewed footage.
In Malaysia, Samsung are offering the QN800D and QN900D Neo QLED 8K TVs in 75-inch and 85-inch sizes with the higher end QN900D standing out on account of its novel Infinity Air Design that has a 13.1mm thin panel with a tiny Mystic Floating Stand that lends it a unique floating effect.
The most recognisable aspect of the new Samsung Neo QLED 8K are its new Infinity Air Design that seems to float on a tiny little pedestal with the panel being just 13.1mm thin with most of the hardware and ports integrated into a One Connect box to create a seamlessly clean look.
Also launched was the 2024 edition of The Frame TV that aims to offer reduced energy costs via variable refresh rate adjustments without compromising image quality along with a new Music Frame speaker that lets you swap out the photo panel as well as the frame surrounding it while piping out wireless audio on demand.

In terms of pricing, the 85-inch QN900D series QLED 8K TV retails for RM46,999 while the 75-inch model retails for RM30,999. For a limited time, Samsung is offering RM2,500 in free Touch ‘Go eWallet credit when purchasing the former and RM1,300 Touch ‘n Go eWallet credit for the latter.
The 85-inch Neo QLED 8K QN800D TV clocks in at RM32,999 with RM1,700 in free Touch ‘n Go eWallet credit while the 75-inch Neo QLED 8K QN800D TV is priced at RM24,999 with free RM1,000 in Touch ‘n Go eWallet credit.
