Exquisitely premium Bowers and Wilkins Pi7, Pi5, Px8 wearables and more now available in Malaysia
Audio aficionados in Malaysia will likely be intimately familiar with audio tech purveyor Bowers and Wilkins but were stymied by the fact that their collection of earbuds, headphones and other wearables weren’t widely available locally. Until now that is as TC Acoustic will be introducing Bowers and Wilkins’ latest Pi7 and Pi5 wireless earbuds, the Px8 McLaren Edition and the Px8 007 James Bond Edition headphones to Malaysia.
Bowers and Wilkins Pi7 S2 and Pi5 S2 specifications
The new Bowers and Wilkins Pi5 S2 and Pi7 S2 true wireless headphones improve upon the originals that were first introduced in 2021 with enhanced battery life for the earbuds at up to 5 hours of listening time for both models as well as stronger, better wireless connectivity at up to 25 metres distance thanks to a reengineered antenna design.
In terms of specifications, the Bowers and Wilkins Pi5 S2 uses a 9.2mm bespoke drive unit in each earbud, features aptX codec support, has active noise cancellation via twin built-in mics per earbud, offers up to 24 hours of battery life inclusive of the charging case. In Malaysia, the Pi5 S2 retails for RM1,699 in four possible colourways which consist of Cloud Grey, Storm Grey, Spring Lilac and Sage Green.
The Bowers and Wilkins Pi7 S2 is of particular value to frequent flyers as it has Wireless Audio Retransmission tech that enables users to connect the charging case to an in-flight audio system as a Bluetooth transmitter, allowing users to eschew the usual cheap in-flight issued earbuds in lieu of the Pi7 S2’s far superior sound quality.
As their premier wireless earbud model, the Bowers and Wilkins Pi7 S2 also features 9.2mm bespoke Bowers and Wilkins drive unit enhanced by a ‘balanced armature’ driver per ear bud for a total of four, each driven by their own amplifier to stream 24-bit/48kHz true wireless audio.
The Pi7 S2 offers up to 25 hours of battery life also inclusive of the charging case with a 15-minute charge offering 2 additional hours of listening time. Active noise cancellation is achieved via a total of six microphones spread across both earbuds.
In Malaysia, the Bowers and Wilkins Pi7 S2 retails for RM2,499 and is available in Satin Black, Canvas White and Midnight Blue and can be acquired at the TC Acoustic Concept store at Starhill, Kuala Lumpur.
Bowers and Wilkins Px8 headphones
The Bowers and Wilkins Px8 headphones feature 40mm Carbon Cone drive units that have been carefully angled to ensure an immersive and accurate soundstage paired with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for 24-bit high-resolution sound quality and active noise cancellation tech via three drivers for a total of six. The Px8 also has aptX Adaptive wireless tech to allow for wireless options and wired via a provided USB-C or 3.5mm analogue cable, both of which are provided with the headphones.
Beyond the stock mainstream models, TC Acoustic will be offering the limited edition Px8 McLaren Edition that is functionally similar to the standard retail models but with McLaren’s signature Papaya orange trim overlaying a Galvanic Gray finish while the Px8 007 James Bond edition has the signature logo of the James Bond series emblazoned on the inner portion of each earcup along with a blood red Bluetooth pairing button.
In Malaysia the Px8 McLaren Edition and Px8 James 007 James Bond Edition will both retail for RM4,299 and will be available from 30th March 2023 at the TC Acoustic Flagship store at Starhill, Kuala Lumpur.
