Canon launches EOS RP, the smallest and lightest full-frame EOS camera
Canon Malaysia has debuted a new addition to their EOS R range of full-frame mirrorless cameras that is effectively the smallest and lightest offering in their EOS full-frame series cameras dubbed the EOS RP. With a battery and card loaded, the EOS RP weighs only 485g, which makes it exceptionally light as full frame cameras go.
The EOS RP sports a 26.2-Megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, uses their potent DIGIC 8 image processor that offers an ISO Range of 100 – 40,000, offers a continuous shooting speed of 5fps and supports their RF-series lenses.
The camera also integrates Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF system that features 4,779 autofocus points. Videos on the EOS RP are captured at 4K resolution at 25fps at 120MB/s and users can grab 8.3-MP stills even while capturing 4K video.
Shots and videos are framed by a 0.39-inch OLED electronic viewfinder with 2.36-million-dot resolution or a tiltable 3-inch, 1.04-million pixel touchscreen LCD with Touch-and-Drag AF. Other mod-cons include water/dust resistance and Wi/Fi connectivity.
According to Canon, the EOS RP will be available for purchase in March at a retail price of RM5,999 for the body and RM10,999 when paired up with an RF24-105mm f/2.4 IS USM kit lens. For more details swing by www.canon.com.my
