Casio’s titanium hewn MR-G is the manliest (and toughest) watch you’ll ever want
Casio today launched their latest product showcase of timepieces today at Pavilion which featured their latest watches from across the range from the fashionable to offerings so laden with tech they they would make aspiring gadgeteers weep tears of manly envy such as their MRG-G1000DC ultra tough watches. The latest incarnations of the MR-G series features a full titanium case from the bezel all the way to the back and even the band too is made of the same stuff. The watches are able to be used in up to 200 metres in the drink. Three variants exist locally though they are functionally similar albeit with three different finishes and bundled extras.
The components of each MR-G series watch hewn from solid chunks of titanium whilst sensitive components like the buttons are reinforced to be shock proof.
Resilience aside, the MR-G timepieces comes with their Wave Ceptor tech and an internal GPS to keep accurate time wherever you are on the globe and is powered by a solar cell so you won’t run out of juice in the boonies with the ability to run on its own for up to a year and six months. During the launch, Casio showcased their limited edition variant of their MRG-G1000DC timepiece dubbed the Akagane edition, which incorporates a unique red-gold hue seen in master crafted Japanese metal work accenting the numerals, dial and crown.
It also comes in a unique lacquer crafted box for your edification along with a more practical and sturdier armoured Proteca case. The limited edition MR-G ‘Akagane’ variant retails for RM12,687. You’d best hurry though as there’s only five available in Malaysia.
The MR-G also ships in a standard variant done in a shade of silver for RM11,320 along with the free armoured Proteca case that resembles a Pelican reinforced box to protect the watch during transport but sans the lacquered box of the MR-G Akagane edition. You can also opt for the MR-G in black for RM13,132 which also comes sheathed in what they call a ‘diamond light’ scratch proof coating. For the duration of the show, you can snag yourself the chance to participate in a lucky draw for a Limited Edition G-Shock X Burton GW-9400BTJ-8 worth RM1,799 with the purchase of any Casio timepiece at the roadshow.
Another onsite promo is a free Boeing 737 flight simulator experience worth RM400 with the purchase of any Casio Global Timepiece at the roadshow. All three MR-G watches and Casio’s extensive range of timepieces are all at Pavilion until Sunday. For more details please login to Casio.com.my
