DHL’s new eCommerce division in Malaysia will help you get your stuff on time

If there’s ever a pet peeve when you’re buying stuff online it’s the fact that whatever you bought never arrives in one piece or for the matter at the right time. Assuming it ever arrives at all. If you’re an e-tailer, shoddy deliveries are even more of a headache as they’re usually issued out to a third party but if anything goes awry, you’re usually the one to blame. DHL’s new eCommerce division aims to nip such petty conundrums in the bud for good as they’ve just launched their new service that offers domestic delivery operations nationwide in both east and west Malaysia.

According to Malcolm Monteiro, CEO, Asia Pacific, DHL eCommerce,”E-commerce has become a way of life for Malaysians, with 47% already using their smartphones to shop online.” He added that seven million Malaysians are shopping online every month and e-commerce is expected to grow to 1 billion Euros by 2020 and globally to US$1 trillion in the same year.” Mr. Monteiro added further,”Businesses need high-quality logistics solutions to leverage this immense growth and meet the rapidly changing needs of online shoppers. This makes the need for a tailored e-commerce delivery service greater than ever before.”

Essentially, the new DHL eCommerce service will offer the gamut of end-to-end delivery solutions for e-tailers which include pick-up services, track and trace for deliveries, reverse logistics, cash on delivery with daily remittance and call center capabilities for deliveries within Malaysia.

To achieve this lofty goal to DHL’s usual levels of excellence, DHL eCommerce has set up a 48,000 sq ft central distribution hub in Puchong with depots in Penang, Johor Bahru and Cheras. To ensure that deliveries are on time, they’ve employed a fleet of bikes and delivery vans to offer next-day delivery to all urban areas in the Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Bahru with two to four day delivery to other locations across East and West Malaysia. Ultimately, what this means is that buying stuff online is going to be a much more pleasant experience with them around and on the job.
