What is the Dyson Airstrait

Somewhat resembling the prior Corrale, the Dyson Airstrait looks like an art deco pair of tongs with each arm featuring 1.5mm apertures that project the air at a precise 45-degree angle to create a precisely angled high-pressure blade of air downwards and outwards that aligns the hair strands while drying them without any hair damage.

According to Dyson’s boffins, when hair is wet, water weakens these molecular bonds rendering the hair malleable through heat which can potentially damage it or by air ; both methods will dry and set a hairstyle in though the former traditional method damages hair. By using just the right level of heat and air, the Dyson Airstrait is able to style hair rapidly and effectively by using a strong yet safe airflow to break down the hydrogen bonds in each hair strand and reset them in the desired new hairstyle.

In order to ensure a consistent level of power, the Dyson Airstrait uses their own inhouse Hyperdymium motor that has been custom built specifically for the design with a 13-blade impeller that can spin up to 106,000rpm to propel 11.9 litres of air per second through the Airstrait which in turn offers up to 3.5kPa of air pressure.

The Airstrait also has a built-in intelligent heat control that measures the temperature of the airflow 16 times per second to regulate heat and ensure that it doesn’t exceed the required heat levels. There’s no official word on when the Dyson Airstrait will arrive in Malaysia but odds are extremely good that it will appear here sometime this year.
