Honor X9c 5G toughness upgrades
According to Honor, their Honor X9c 5G has a number of enhancements to its design that make it tougher than the Honor X9b 5G launched last year. According to Honor, the new Honor X9b 5G is drop-resistant up to 2 metres to hard flooring whereas the X9b was only rated for 1.5 metres. The display has also been reinforced as well with an internal shock absorbing chassis such that it could be used to hammer nails down into wood.
Another notable durability upgrade to the Honor X9c 5G is an improved dust and water resistance rating to IP65M with the M suffix indicating that it can survive high pressure jets from all directions which they amply demonstrated by being hosed down with a high pressure water blaster . In fact, the phone was even able to survive being simmered in a hotpot for a few minutes with no undue effects or damage.
In fact, the Honor X9c 5G is so tough that the phone has what they refer to as the first Triple Defence, Triple Assurance policy. While the emphasis on the Honor X9c 5G is its durability, Honor has also made the battery larger compared to the X9b 5G with the new X9c 5G featuring a bigger 6,600mAh Silicon Carbide battery with 66W wired fast charging.
The OLED display itself has Eye Comfort certification that vouches that it minimises low blue light emissions to make it safer for extended viewing. The Honor X9c 5G also has stereo speakers that can offer up to 300% volume too.
The Honor X9c 5G also gets a smattering of Honor Magic AI features too though which exact features are being ironed out ahead of its final launch in Malaysia. The phone also packs a large 108MP camera that now has optical image stabilisation (OIS), for steadier shots alongside a secondary 5MP ultra wide angle camera. Up front, the phone also has a single 16MP selfie camera too.
