Honor 200 Pro early bird special gets you RM1337 in free gifts with RM20 deposit

Honor has upended their typical tempo of launching a single numbered series phone annually in Malaysia as this time around, they’re launching both the Honor 200 standard and Honor 200 Pro. In Malaysia, they have announced an Honor 200 Pro Early Bird Special offer that is taking place from now until 18 June 2024 where an RM20 deposit gets you whopping RM1,377 in free gifts.

At present, only the Honor 200 Pro has a special early bird programme where you can get an RM200 rebate, inclusive of the RM20 deposit, an Honor SuperCharge wireless charger stand, a pair of Honor Earbuds X6 earbuds and a 365-day front and back crack replacement policy worth a collective RM1,377.

Honor 200 Pro and Honor 200 Specs

Launched last month in China, the standard Honor 200 and upgunned Honor 200 Pro are interesting premium midrange designs that cull quite a bit of hardware and features from the higher end Magic6 Pro while optimising the cameras for capturing superior portraiture. Thanks to a collaboration with Paris-based Studio Harcourt along with special Portrait filters, the Honor 200 series are capable of capturing portraits with the same settings used by the eponymous portraiture studio with a single press of a button.

Both phones have a somewhat similar chassis predominated by a marbled looking backplate in different colourways with the standout feature being an oval-shaped rear camera housing and how the front camera punch-hole looks like with the Pro having an oval-shaped punch hole and the base model having a simple single punch hole.

In terms of hardware, the Honor 200 Pro is the better kitted of the lot with a 6.78-inch AMOLED quad-curved floating display with 4,000 nits peak brightness flanked by dual stereo speakers, a Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage as well as Android 14 running under the hood with their own MagicOS 8.0, an Honor C1+ RF Enhanced chipset for better connectivity and a 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired fast charging and 66w wireless fast charging. 

The rear main triple camera array is built around a 50MP Main camera with a H9000 1/1.3-inch sensor culled from the Magic6 Pro for better shots stabilised by a dual OIS + EIS anti-shake system for judder-free shots. This is paired with a 50MP telephoto camera with a Sony IMX 856 sensor, the first phone to feature this sensor in Malaysia as well as a 12MP ultra wide angle and macro camera.

Up front, the phone has a 50MP Portrait Selfie camera. Of note is that Honor will be including an array of AI enhancements from their higher end Magic6 Pro including Magic Portal, Air Gestures and more.  In Malaysia, the Honor 200 Pro may be available in both Moonlight White or Ocean Cyan.

The base Honor 200 standard version has much of the same features as the Honor 200 Pro including the same battery size, dual stereo speakers and AI aesthetics. It even has a mostly similar camera setup save that the main 50MP camera with its H9000 sensor is replaced with a more modest Sony IMX906 1/1.56-inch sensor though the dual OIS and EIS is retained along with the 50MP telephoto camera and its Sony IMX856 sensor, the 12MP ultra wide angle and macro camera as well as the front-facing 50MP Portrait Selfie camera. 

The base Honor 200 comes in slightly different colourways including pink and black from the Pro variant

The hardware under the hood also has slight tweaks for the Honor 200 with the use of a more modest Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset paired with 12GB RAM and your choice of either 256GB or 512GB storage for Malaysia. There’s no official word on what colourways will arrive in Malaysia but odds are good that it may possibly come in Coral Pink, Moonlight White or Black.
