For the uninitiated, the Huawei Mate50 series is their latest flagship phone that will be arriving in Malaysia in the near future. We previously managed to get a hands-on look at the Mate50 Pro which comes in two flavours – one in an orange hued vegan leather that is sheathed in Kunlun glass which is effectively drop proof and tough enough to crush walnuts and a more conventional variant with Gorilla glass. There will also be a standard Mate50 though it was not revealed at the hands-on event.

Durability differences aside, the Mate50 Pro has a 6.74-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 CPU with a 4G modem running EMUI 13 in regions outside of China, 8GB RAM, either 256GB or 512GB of storage, a rear triple camera array with their own XMAGE imaging tech (50MP primary with OIS + 64MP with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS and a 13MP ultra wide angle), a front-facing 13MP selfie camera and a 4,700mAh battery with 66W fast charging.
