Lazada teams up with Nutribah to digitalise Sabah agriculture sector

Lazada and organic superfood producer Nutribah are teaming up to digitalise and support Sabah’s farmers and their large agriculture sector with its diverse range of products. The new team-up between Lazada and Nutribah aims to help resolve the biggest challenge for Sabah farmers – last mile logistics – allowing them to sell their crops and products effectively, expand their sales channels and reach out to the host of Malaysians who shop on Lazada.

The partnership will see Lazada enabling fresh food producers to sell their produce to customers at a reduce cost to offer Sabahan farmers a more stable income stream while Nutribah offers logistics services for buyers.

Market access has always been a significant obstacle for our agro-food producers, particularly in East Malaysia. Through our cooperation with Lazada, our producers are able to directly sell their produce and products to customers at a reduced cost and we’re able to offer logistics services for buyers,” said Preston Sean Soh, Executive Director, Nutribah. “This capacity to engage directly with consumers also provides our farmers with a more stable income stream.”

There is a growing demand for fresh produce and wellness-related items and products amongst Malaysian consumers, and we are happy to welcome Nutribah and their network of organic farmers to the Lazada family to provide shoppers direct and easy access to said products. Supporting Sabah’s efforts to digitalise its agricultural sector is also part of our ongoing commitment to enable sellers and help build sustainable local communities,” said Darren Rajaratnam, Chief Operating Officer, Lazada Malaysia.
