Moto’s midrange G5 Plus launched at RM1,299
If you’re on the lookout for a midrange workhorse phone that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, you will find that Moto’s newly launched G5 Plus workhorse phone brings quite a few interesting propositions to the table at a very agreeable price.
The G5 Plus weighs in at about 155g and sports a sturdy unibody aluminium chassis with a diamond blasted finish that comes in either gray or gold.
In terms of hardware, it sports a large 5.2-inch 1080P 424ppi display, has a capable Snapdragon 625 2.0Ghz octacore processor running Android 7.0 Nougat, packs 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Of note on the G5 Plus is that it has a dedicated dual nano SIM card bay along with a separate microSD card slot that supports up to 128GB cards, effectively allowing you to tote two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time on the phone.
The rear sports a 12-MP camera with an F/1.7 aperture; one of the few phones in the market to do so next to the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom, Oppo R9s and the Galaxy S7 though it lacks optical image stabilisation which necessitates a steady hand. The rear camera is also capable of capturing 4K video too. The front comes with a 5-MP F/2.2 selfie camera.
Like other Moto phones of recent vintage the G5 Plus has a fingerprint reader at the base of the phone and has what they dub as Moto Nav functionality which lets you use it to flick through screens.
Keeping it juiced is a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support juiced via a microUSB port. It comes in your choice of either Lunar Grey and Fine Gold for RM1,299 and is available for preorder exclusively on Lazada and DirectD.
Lazada preorders, which are valid from today till 4 June get a free flip case, screen protector and Moto Care card worth RM298.
From 5 June onwards buyers get the flip case and screen protector only that are collectively worth RM99. You can also snag the phone on a one-year zero installment plan via Maybank when you preorder on Lazada. For more details swing by www.lazada.com.my/lenovo-mobile and here.
