New HONOR ViewPad 6 is a 10-inch 2K tablet with WiFi 6 and quad speakers
The next interesting item in the Live with HONOR live stream was the release of their latest tablet that they’ve dubbed the HONOR ViewPad 6.
As a brand, HONOR hasn’t released many tablets not even in their domestic market in China but the ViewPad 6 does bring quite a few tempting features to the fore. The tablet itself has a 10-inch 2K resolution Fullview display with 470 nits peak brightness and 100% sRGB colour gamut compliance. It also comes with four speakers spaced around the corners enhanced with Huawei’s Histen 6.1 tech to offer a more vivid and richer sound stage.
Of more interest is the inclusion of the new Kirin HiSilicon 985 5G processor that is built on a 7nm process, has an NPU for computational tasks and has a Mali-G77 CPU to handle pixel crunching. It also has an integrated 5G modem baked in which ought to be useful when 5G rolls around in Malaysia. Of note is the inclusion of WiFi 6 for faster downloads. While it’s not immediately stated as such during the launch, it’s very likely that the ViewPad 6 will run a variant of EMUI sans Google mobile services.
HONOR ViewPad 6 Price and Availability
At its official announcement, HONOR did not mention how much RAM or storage it came with but showed the existence of a Magic Pen stylus and a latch-on magnetic keyboard in the manner of the Huawei MatePad Pro tablet. They also did not reveal exact launch dates or a price tag just yet so we’ll keep you posted when we get updates from HONOR.
