OnePlus Nord 3 5G officially priced at RM2,199; preorders come with free earbuds
If you’re on the hunt for a budget phone and earbuds to go with it, you’re in luck as the OnePlus Nord 3 5G phone and the OnePlus Nord Buds 2r are now available for preorders in Malaysia.

Preorders for the OnePlus Nord 3 5G phone start from now with the phone available in one colourway and 16GB RAM/256GB storage for RM2,199 with early bird preorders who purchase it now until 9th July 2023 getting a free pair of OnePlus Nord Buds on the house. From 10th July 2023 onwards, it enters open retail online and at all OnePlus distributors nationwide.
This is a slightly older model compared to the newer OnePlus Nord Buds 2r that has been launched alongside the new phone. It retails for RM299 and which comes in your choice of Deep Gray or Triple Blue Colourways though it does not have any freebies thrown in on preorder. What is the OnePlus Nord 3 5G
The OnePlus Nord 3 5G is an upper midrange phone that acts as a successor of sorts to the prior Nord 2T that was launched last year with a few refinements. For RM2,199, you get a phone with a 6.74-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor running Android 13 and their own OxygenOS 13.1, 16GB of fast LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
The rear consists of a 50MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide angle camera riding shotgun and a 2MP depth sensor while selfies are handled by a single 16MP selfie camera. Keeping the phone powered is a 5,000mAh battery with an impressive 80W fast charging support.
The phone also has IP54 dust and splash resistance so it can shrug off sweat and a splash or two of water. Other mod-cons include a backplate protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and Dragontrail glass for the front display, stereo speakers and their signature Alert Slider on the side of the phone. What is the OnePlus Nord Buds 2r
Intended as a budget pair of buds that build on the earlier Nord Buds 2, the OnePlus Nord Buds 2r has 12.4mm dynamic drivers in each earbud and has support for the usual AAC and SBC codecs though it lacks active noise cancellation. On the bright side, it features 8 hours of battery life on a single charge with a total of 38 hours of usage when you add in the charging case.
The earbuds also have IP55 dust and sweat resistance too which lends them a modicum of utility outdoors and in workouts. In Malaysia, you can get it in either gray or blue for RM299. You can check out our review here.
