Razer Ornata V3 keyboard series brings the RGB bling and mecha-membrane switches from RM329
Razer certainly doesn’t rest on their laurels and they’ve just launched a third generation incarnation of their original Ornata keyboard that first debuted in 2016 and which saw a second generation refresh in 2020. The third generation Razer Ornata V3 gaming keyboard also uses their mecha-membrane switches but reduces the overall footprint and uses a slimline keycap design.
What is the Razer Ornata V3 keyboard
For the uninitiated, the Razer Ornata V3 wired gaming keyboard and its Razer mecha-membrane switches aims to offer the best of both worlds from both mechanical and membrane keyboards, offering a crisp tactility as well as a soft cushioned touch. Seeing as this is Razer issued gear, it naturally has 10-zone RGB Chroma lighting.
Key tactility aside, the Razer Ornata V3 is notably more compact than its predecessors by shaving down the space between the keyboard frame as well as the numeric keypad and main array, offers shorter switches and adds in four buttons in the upper right corner to increase, decrease, mute or active volume versus the dial of its V2 predecessor. Fortunately, it does retain the attachable padded wrist rest for additional comfort during extended firefights or work sessions.
In Malaysia, the Razer Ornata V3 retails for RM329 and is now available online at their Razer store and authorised distributors nationwide.
You can also opt for the more affordable Ornata V3 X that is mostly similar but which eschews Razer mecha-membrane switches for a more conventional silent membrane keyboard setup along with a more modest single zone Razer Chroma RGB lighting which also helps to pare the price down to RM195.
