Samsung Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G coming to Malaysia soon

Fresh off the debut of their flagship Galaxy S23 series, Samsung is rolling out their next refreshed updates for their midrange Galaxy A series. Last week saw the Galaxy A14 arrive in Malaysia but Samsung has just announced that they will also be bringing in the Galaxy A54 5G and the Galaxy A34 5G as well.

On top of a guaranteed 4 generations worth of OS upgrades all the way to Android 17 along with 5 years of security updates, both the Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G also have 2 years worth of warranty to ensure maximum bang for the buck. As you’d likely surmise, both phones have 5G connectivity which ensures they’re future-ready for local 5G networks.

Samsung Galaxy A54 5G specifications

The larger Galaxy A54 5G has a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits of peak brightness and their Vision Booster tech for better clarity even under daylight conditions. 

In terms of hardware, the phone features Samsung’s own Exynos 1380 processor that’s a notch better than its predecessor the Exynos 1280 used in last year’s Galaxy A33 and Galaxy A53. The Exynos 1380 is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB of expandable storage via the use of a microSD card slot. Running under the hood is Android 13 and Samsung’s own OneUI 5.1 with a guaranteed update all the way to Android 17.

On the rear, the phone runs a triple camera setup that consists of a primary 50MP F/1.8 camera with OIS and and video digital image stabilization (VDIS)., a secondary 12MP F/2.2 ultra wide angle camera and a 5MP F/2.4 macro camera. For selfies and video calls, the phone has a front-facing 32MP F/2.2 selfie camera framed in a punch hole on the display. Keeping the phone powered is a 5,000mAH battery with 25W fast charging. 

Other mod-cons for the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G include stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor as well as a solid IP67 dust and water resistance rating with everything shoehorned into a 8.2mm thin casing that weighs a modest 202g with your choice of four colourways which are Awesome Lime, Awesome Silver, Awesome Violet and Awesome Graphite.

Samsung Galaxy A34 5G Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G, oddly enough, has a slightly larger Super AMOLED display than the Galaxy A54 5G measuring in at 6.6-inches with the same 120Hz refresh rate and VIsion Booster tech along with a 1,000 nits peak brightness. 

Crammed into an IP67 dust and water resistant chassis is a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 processor running Android 13 and their One UI 5.1. This is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB of expandable storage via a microSD card slot. Like the Galaxy A54 5G, the Galaxy A34 5G also has stereo speakers and 5G connectivity.

On the rear of the phone is a triple camera array centred around a 48MP F/1.8 camera with OIS and VDIS, an 8MP F/2.2 ultra wide angle camera and a 5MP F/2.4 macro sensor. Up front, you get a single 13MP F/2.2 selfie camera framed in a teardrop-shaped notch.

Keeping the phone powered is a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast wired charging. Colour options are similar to the larger Galaxy A54 5G with your choice of Awesome Lime, Awesome Silver, Awesome Violet and Awesome Graphite.

How much is the Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G in Malaysia?

There’s no official word on the prices for the Galaxy A34 5G or the Galaxy A54 5G save that both phones come with only one RAM/storage configuration with four colourways and will arrive in Malaysia in the near future.
