Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Malaysia price and availability announced; from RM2,999 and up

While it’s pretty much an open secret at this point in time, Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S23 FE Malaysia prices and availability. Their latest budget flagship experience will be available in Malaysia in two storage configurations and your choice of four colourways from RM2,999 this 10th October 2023 onwards. Also launched at the same time are the Galaxy Tab S9 FE series tablets as well as their Galaxy Buds FE earbuds.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE Malaysia specs

Standing for ‘Fan Edition’, the FE series phones are more budget oriented offerings compared to their mainline Galaxy S23 series though they still pack better hardware than many other competing mainline devices. Here’s how the new Galaxy S23 FE series smartphones stack up.

In terms of hardware, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE hosts a 6.4-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with an adaptive refresh rate between 60Hz-120Hz. Under the hood, it hosts an Exynos 2200 processor built on a 4nm process that runs Android 13 paired with 8GB RAM and your choice of either 128Gb or 256GB of onboard storage.

The chassis is rated for IP68 dust and water resistance with the backplate and front display sheathed in Corning Gorilla Glass 5 with the sides featuring a stand-issue aluminium frame versus the Armor Aluminum used in the higher end Galaxy S23 series.

The rear comes with a 50MP F/1.8 primary camera with OIS and Adaptive Pixel tech for steadier shots, an 8MP F/2.4 camera with 3x optical zoom and a 12MP F/2.2 ultra wide angle camera. Collectively speaking, the camera array is capable of up to 30 x digital zoom and can even capture 8K video too.

Up front, the phone has a single 10MP F/2.4 camera for selfies. Keeping it charged is a 4,500mAh battery with wired as well as wireless charging and reverse wireless charging for other gear like earbuds and the like.

Like many of their other devices of recent vintage, the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE has 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of OS updates. It also has 5G connectivity, fast WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. 

Pricewise, it compares favourably and is cheaper than the baseline Galaxy S23 with most of the concessions being the processor while retaining much of the high-end highlights of the Samsung flagship experience like an OIS-stabilised rear camera array, an IP68 rating and a large, luscious AMOLED display.

In Malaysia, you can purchase the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE 128GB for RM2,999 and the Galaxy S23 FE 256GB for RM3,299 in your choice of four colourways – Mint, Cream, Graphite and Purple with a nationwide availability of 10th October 2023 at all Samsung Experience stores, authorised retailers and the Samsung online store.
