Samsung offers swap for S7 Edge or refund for Galaxy Note7’s in Malaysia
Samsung today issued an official statement for owners of the Galaxy Note7 in Malaysia that existing users may get a refund or swap for a Galaxy S7 Edge. This is contingent on users returning their Note7.
Owners of the Galaxy Note7 who acquired their phones in the pre-order will be contacted from 13th October onwards by Samsung’s Customer Service team or participating network partners about the exchange program. If users have any queries they may contact the official Samsung Malaysia Careline at 1-800-88-7799. There’s a price difference between the Note7 and the S7 Edge so the question does remain as to how Samsung will compensate for the difference. We’ll let you know once we’ve gotten details. Samsung has updated their official site with details on how the mechanics of returning the Galaxy Note7. Basically, if you are sending it for return, you’ll have to drop it back at the place where you purchased it which applies for Samsung Experience stores, Courts, Senheng and Lazada from 17th October onwards. Those who bought it from a telco will be contacted respectively with further details of the return from 17th October onwards.
If you opt to swap your phone for a Galaxy S7 Edge, you’ll get a spanking new phone along with a cashback via bank transfer to the tune of RM300. If you bought any Note7 accessories, you can also return them for a refund with proof of purchase. If you opt to get a full refund, you’ll be refunded via bank transfer for a total of RM2,879.10 which is the preorder price. For more details swing by their official site here.
