Samsung pushes out tasty Nougat 7.0 update to Galaxy S7 edge phones in Malaysia
If you’ve been feeling left out of all the fun, fret not as Samsung has just rolled out the Nougat 7.0 update for Galaxy S7 edge phones in Malaysia. The Nougat 7.0 update features a slew of improvements though it’ll take up a 1.3GB chunk of storage beforehand.
Overall, the menu icons have been standardised and the menus have undergone a revamp to make it easier to find stuff on the phone though you can also do so via the integrated S Finder. Among the featured improvements include a new Performance mode that lets you tweak your phone to one of four different modes – Optimised, Game Mode, Entertainment Mode and High Performance mode – based on usage needs. You’re also able to tweak screen resolution to save on battery life from 720P all the way to the full resolution that the S7 edge screen supports.
You’ll also get improved control over the split screen view with the ability to modify the window size in split screen view with a pop-up window function that supports up to five apps on top of the two in split-screen view to effectively offer up to seven apps onscreen at a time.
The camera menu also gets simplified so that an up or downwards swipe changes cameras while a left or right swipe gets you access to filters and other camera modes.
You’ll also get an updated feature called Samsung Pass that acts as a master key for some of Samsung’s apps and other features. If you don’t see it yet, go to Settings> About Device> Download Updates manually to trigger it. No word yet on when the Galaxy S7 will get the Nougat update yet but it’s in the pipeline. We’ll keep you posted.
