Synology PAS7700 enterprise storage remains popular choice for mission-critical workloads in Malaysia
The integrity and security of critical data storage can make or break an organisation. In that regard, many companies with critical data integrate a hybrid cloud solution that combines cloud and on-site storage solutions. In that regard, the Synology PAS7700 enterprise storage solution that was launched last year remains a proven choice with many organisations especially for mission-critical data.
“Storage is no longer just an IT consideration for Malaysian businesses. It has become part of the foundation that supports enhanced productivity, service continuity and digital growth. With PAS7700, Synology is helping enterprises build a more resilient storage environment that can support today’s workloads while preparing for demanding future needs such as AI integration, analytics and infrastructure expansion,” said Jason Sin, Country Manager of Synology Malaysia.

“PAS7700 reflects Synology’s 25+ years of experience in storage and our close collaboration with enterprise customers to address evolving requirements for high availability, performance, and scalability. After a year of extensive real-world validation through our enterprise proof-of-concept program, PAS7700 is field-proven to deliver high reliability and performance, while helping customers lower total cost of ownership (TCO),” said Synology NAS Group Executive Vice President Bie-I Chu.

What is the Synology PAS7700?
The Synology PAS7700 currently in the Malaysia market now retains a similar configuration as the model launched late last year, which is a testament to the robustness of its design. You get dual controllers and 48 NVMe SSD bays in a 4UI chassis with the ability to support up to 1.65PB of raw storage with up to seven expansion units. Up close, the PAS7700 is built to support mission-critical systems with up to 2,048GB of memory, 100GbE networking with up to 2 million IOPS, latency under 1ms and up to 30GB/s sequential throughput.
With these robust specifications, the PAS7700 is able to offer consistent performance and continuous service reliability with centralised high-performance storage and support for virtualised workloads even in challenging usage environments.
A key feature of the PAS7700 is its active-active architecture that allows both controllers to operate simultaneously rather than the usual active-standby model. Even if one controller or a network component fails, the system can continue delivering services which minimises business downtime and ensures continuity of services.
The design is also built with high availability in mind with triple-parity RAID, mirrored write cache protection, IP failover and a Continuous Availability Manager to allow IT teams to rapidly diagnose potential issues before they affect vital services.

Even better, the PAS7700 also addresses potential cybersecurity risks that may incur business downtime or potential loss of data. According to PIKOM’s Beyond Compliance: The State of Cyber Resilience in Malaysia 2026 report, the average cost of a data breach in Malaysia with potential costs skyrocketing to RM3.2 million in 2025 with some organisations reporting more than RM5 million in losses from a single major cybersecurity incident.
To address this, the Synology PAS7700 supports Self-Encrypting Drives (SEDs), providing hardware-level protection without compromising system performance along with WORM folders and immutable snapshots to prevent unauthorised deletion or tampering. Additional features include Snapshot Replication and Hyper Backup to create multiple redundant layers to enhance cyber resilience and improve data recoverability.
