Tickets to Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire at Resorts World Genting up for preorders this week
If you are a Star Wars fan, rejoice, as Resorts World Genting and The VOID will be bringing in their their Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire VR experience this coming 6 December 2018 at the Skytropolis Funland located at the resort.
The VR experience has you and three other aspiring fans donning VR goggles and gear as part of a Rebel Alliance team of operatives attempting to masquerade as Imperial stormtroopers on Mustafar – yes, that planet where a certain someone became the Sith Lord that we’ve come to know and love – to recover vital intel.
Accompanying you along the way is K-250, the rather laconic droid from Rogue One to narrate and guide you along the path. We’ve yet to see what the experience has in store for us but according to the provided teaser, you’ll likely have to shoot up a ton of stuff including Stormtroopers, solve several puzzles and take on a lava monster of some sort. There’s even a glimpse of a Stormtrooper with 501st Legion livery which is another interesting addition indeed.
Resorts World Genting says that the VR game will even offer a sense of touch and smell as well which makes it intriguing indeed as to how they aim to fulfill that in a game.
There’s no word yet on if the events of the game are considered canon or not yet to the present Star Wars continuity but the presence of K-2S0 implies that whatever happens here takes place before the events of Rogue One. In any case, this ought to be an interesting experience indeed.
Tickets to the Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire are available for preorders on www.rwgenting.com for RM130 per person starting 30 November 2018. The ride opens on 6 December 2018.
