New Redmi Note 14 Pro series launched in Malaysia; prices start from RM1,199

Xiaomi has added a new addition to their Redmi Note line-up in Malaysia dubbed the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G that comes with a number of welcome upgrades including improved toughness and much better camera sensor on top of the obligatory improvements in performance.

In keeping with the recent emphasis on improving phone durability, the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G has a thermally conductive aluminium alloy frame that is 10% tougher than its predecessor while integrating six reinforcing steel plates, strengthening ribs across its internal frame along with shock absorbing components including high-polymer cushioning gel, foam pads and a thickened motherboard to survive everyday impacts.

The screen also gets protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 while the backplate is covered by slightly less tough but still durable Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The phone also gets an IP68 dust and water resistance rating too.

On the hardware front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G comes with a 6.7-inch 1.5K CrystalRes AMOLED Eye-Care that has 2,712 x 1,220 pixels resolution, up to 3,000 nits peak brightness and support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ on top of 1,920Hz PWM dimming and new Wet Touch 2.0 tech that allows users to continue interacting with the phone even with oily or wet hands.

Improved screen aside, the  Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G comes with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor that has 30% improved AI capabilities than its predecessor, enabling the the phone to support Google Gemini assistant as well as a host of AI capabilities including Circle to Search by Google, AI Interpreter and AI Magic Removal Pro to remove unwanted parts of an image.

There’s even an AI Image Expansion to fill in and help reframe images as well as an AI Film mode that can help create videos for you in just a few clicks. Paired with the processor is 12GB RAM with either 256GB or 512GB of storage.

The rear of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G comes with a triple camera array that hosts a primary 200MP camera that utilises a flagship-grade Samsung HP3 sensor that offers up to 4X zoom and also has OIS.

Paired with the huge main camera is an 8MP ultra wide angle camera and a 2MP camera while the front has a single 20MP selfie camera. Keeping the whole affair powered is a 5,110mAh battery with fast 120W wired charging.

Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G Specifications

Also launched is the Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G that has a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with 1,220 x 2,712 pixels resolution protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, with the primary difference being that it packs a different Mediatek Dimensity 7300 Ultra chipset, has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G has a similar camera setup as the Pro+ variant with a 200MP main camera with a slightly more modest, an 8MP F/2.2 ultra wide angle camera and a 2MP depth sensor with the front featuring a 20MP selfie camera.

Keeping the phone juiced is 5,110mAh with 45W wired charging. Like its higher end sibling, the Redmi Note 14 Pro has IP68 dust and water resistance along with similar levels of durability.

Xiaomi also revealed a baseline budget variant dubbed the Redmi Note 14 Pro that has a more modest IP64 dust and water resistance which means its splash resistant rather than being capable of temporary immersion in water. This variant also comes in 5G and 4G LTE variants.

The hardware consists of a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1080 x 2,400 pixels resolution protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Powering the phone is a Helio G99-Ultra chipset paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage along with a microSD card slot. 

For imaging duties, it has a similar setup as the Redmi Note 14 Pro with  108MP F/1.7 main camera, an 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor with a front-facing 20MP selfie camera. Keeping the phone powered is a 5,500mAh battery with 45W wired charging.

In Malaysia, the  Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G is available in your choice Midnight Black, Lavender Purple and Frost Blue as well as your choice of either 12GB RAM/256GB storage for RM1,699 or 12GB RAM/512GB of storage for RM1,899.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at RM1,299 while an online-only variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage is available for RM1,199.

The Redmi Note 14 with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and 5G connectivity is priced at RM899 while an 8GB RAM/256GB variant is an online exclusive for RM799

 The Redmi Note 14 variant is priced at with 8GB RAM/256GB storage RM699. Both the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Redmi Note 14 come with your choice of Midnight Black, Coral Green and Lavender Purple colourways.
