APAC region emerging as key strategic growth engine for Kaspersky amidst regional headwinds
Amidst a challenging economic climate, cybersecurity company Kaspersky has become stronger for it with an expanded presence in the Asia Pacific region.
In a recent statement, Kaspersky has shared that they have pivoted towards markets where its leadership in transparent, intelligent-driven and enterprise-ready cybersecurity solutions remain highly sought after, chief among them the Asia Pacific region which has emerged as a key strategic growth engine for the brand.
What is Kaspersky?
For the uninitiated, cybersecurity solutions partner Kaspersky was founded in 1997 and has operated for nearly three decades with a presence in the Asia-Pacific region for over 20 years, lending its unique expertise to over 200 countries and territories across the globe. At present, Kaspersky hosts offices in China, India, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam, with 3,500 partners and growing in the APAC region alone.
Currently, Kaspersky hosts a comprehensive cybersecurity ecosystem that offers more than 40 B2B and B2C solutions ranging from options that protect individual users and devices to larger solutions that protect critical national infrastructure like power plants and government institutions.
Why is the APAC region critical for Kaspersky?
In a briefing, Kaspersky shared that the APAC region has become one of their fastest-growing enterprise markets in 2025 with Indonesia, India, Vietnam and Greater China being markets of strategic interest within the region as organisations located within these locales seek to accelerate digital transformation and acquire cutting edge cybersecurity capabilities to protect against emerging threats and constantly expanding cyberattack vectors.
One of the key aspects to their rapid growth in the APAC region is their ability to work closely with regional partners to drive sustainable business growth through a comprehensive cybersecurity ecosystem along with a transparent approach where clients can personally inspect the code to their cybersecurity solutions at Kaspersky Lab Transparency Labs located across the globe including Malaysia and Zurich.
“Serving international enterprise customers, and in APAC in particular, is a strategic priority for our company,” said Inna Nazarova, Vice-President, International Corporate Sales at Kaspersky at a recent press conference in Hong Kong. “With our experience, global threat intelligence and adaptable solutions, we are well positioned to help organizations focus on their core business as together with our partners work to provide comprehensive resilient protection. We aim to evolve our partner ecosystem in the region to build advanced capabilities across our comprehensive product portfolio”.
She adds,”With our experience, global threat intelligence and adaptable solutions, we are well positioned to help organizations achieve more with comprehensive, resilient protection while enabling our partners to expand their business opportunities.”
This strong demand for Kaspersky cybersecurity solutions, especially for the enterprise market, continues to intensity in 2026 driven by multiple factors – geopolitical fragmentation that is affecting trust and vendor accountability, the impact of digital transformation on business outcomes and the constantly evolving growth of cyber threats that are becoming even more sophisticated thanks to the plethora of easily accessible AI in the market.
In 2025 alone, Kaspersky detected half a million malicious files daily, representing a 7% year-on-year increase, a 59% surge in password stealer malware detection, a 51% increase in detected spyware and a 6% rise in backdoor malware compared to 2024. In the APAC region alone, there was a 132% increase in password stealer malware and a 32% increase in spyware.
“Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT function, it directly impacts business continuity and competitive advantage,” said Adrian Hia, Managing Director of Asia Pacific at Kaspersky. “Organisations today must defend against everything from mass-scale attacks and fraud to sophisticated APT campaigns. Our global visibility and intelligence-driven approach give customers the insights they need to stay ahead of increasingly complex threat actors.” For more on Kaspersky’s services, check out their official page here.
