Arm photon torpedoes! Star Trek: Bridge Crew – The Next Generation coming to PC and PlayStation 4
Hard to port! Arm photon torpedoes! If you have ever fancied sitting in the captain’s chair on a Federation starship, you’ll likely have dabbled with Star Trek: Bridge Crew, the co-op sim that has you managing various crises as part of a starship crew. Now, you get more things to do in the hot seat with the new The Next Generation expansion pack.
The Star Trek: Bridge Crew – The Next Generation expansion pack has you taking the helm of the eponymous U.S.S Enterprise NCC-1701D from Star Trek: The Next Generation series. The expansion pack throws in an enhanced Ongoing Missions mode with two new mission types – Patrol and Resistance. Patrol made has you puttering about space with random encounters aplenty with either the U.S.S Aegis, the U.S.S Enterprise NCC-1701 or the Enterprise-D. In Resistance mode you have to chase down a Borg cube and take it out which is, needless to say, far from easy.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew – The Next Generation will be playable with or without VR and will be available on May 22 for US$14.99 and will be available on PC on July 21 for VR headsets that include HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Windows Mixed Reality support in addition to non-VR players. The good part is that it’s cross-platform on all devices which means you can play with your mates across the great console divide and with those who don’t own a VR headset too. Now, if you’ll excuse us we’ll have to head down to engineering and beef up that transwarp core.
